Literary Publishing Class Publishes Professor’s Book: Free Online Prose Writing Workshop to Celebrate Launch

Students in Dr. Kathleen McConnell’s Literary Publishing class spent part of their semester working through the publishing process—from manuscript to finished publication.

In lieu of a traditional book launch, Wording Around with Prose: Getting a First Draft Out of Your Head and Onto the Page by Kathy Mac, is being launched and celebrated by the class at a free online prose writing workshop on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm (AST). All are welcome.

The book, now available on various digital platforms, stemmed from a seven-week course McConnell offered during the spring 2020 COVID-19 lockdown in an effort to make up for the cancellation of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick’s annual spring festival. Covering everything from the practical—how to structure a story—to the philosophical—why we write— the publication includes ideas, resources, and prompts to help writers work through a first draft.

Wording Around with Prose is available at Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Chapters/Indigo, Kobo, Angus & Robertson, Montadori, Vivlio. For direct links to the book on these platforms, please visit this link:
