A Letter from Sweden: Elizabeth Polk shares her International Exchange experience at Örebro University

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Polk. I’m a third-year º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½dent from Portland, Maine, studying International Relations, Journalism, and Economics. I’m currently on an international exchange in Sweden, and so far it’s been nothing short of amazing!

Studying at Örebro University

Courses at the university rely a lot more on independent work. You have one class at a time instead of the usual five, but the work can be intense. Professors and classmates have been very kind, so it’s easy to ask for help.

An Invaluable Experience

So far, I’ve traveled to Gothenburg, the second-largest city in Sweden, and the Swedish Valleys. I have plans to visit the Norwegian Fjords and am travelling with the exchange program to Russia in November!

Coming here I was afraid because there were so many unknowns but taking that leap of faith is the best thing I could have done.

I’m going to university because I want to be able to make the world a better place, but to make that happen I have to understand the world in its entirety. In my opinion, there’s no better way to do so then going on exchange, meeting new people from all over the world, and being a part of something that’s bigger than you are.

See you next semester, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Polk.
